It used to be when you went to school you would take a refresher course every so often to keep yourself up to date. These courses are becoming more popular with teachers who find themselves teaching in a new area or having to train their own first aiders. If you want to know how long a refresher course will be for in your area then you need to contact your local health board and see what the minimum amount of training is.

Health boards vary in the amount of training needed in their various, first aid courses. You should make sure that you check this to make sure that you are getting adequate training before you start your course and that you are not penalised for it later.
