3. The evaporator coil: this part is also present in the oven, but it is responsible for a completely different job. A refrigerant (a liquid that causes cooling) travels through the evaporator coil, taking in heat from the air that passes over it.

4. Condensing unit: The condensing unit resembles the evaporator coil. Inside the cube-shaped unit, the condensing unit also exchanges heat with the air that blows it, but unlike the evaporation coil, it emits heat.

5. Refrigerant tubes: These metal tubes connect the evaporator loop to the condensing coil, which generally means that the refrigerant tubes are attached to the indoor and outdoor air HVAC units. They are designed to contain cooling coolant under a wide range of temperatures.

6. The thermostat: This small portion is usually located on the wall on the main level of the house and, depending on what temperature you set it to, it can turn on your heating or air conditioning system. It’s best to have a programmable or “smart” thermostat to adjust your home’s temperature regardless of the possibility that it’s not there, which means you can minimize your energy bill.

7. Ducts: Air ducts have a duty to move air throughout the house. Air enters an HVAC system through specific segments of the ductwork and is distributed to rooms through different areas.

8. Vents – As air passes through the ducts, it enters the room through the vents. Users are familiar with rectangular covers that immediately take in air.

9. The heat pump: In the hottest months, the heat pump takes the heat from the house or room to the outside. And in the colder months, it does the opposite.
