All about infrared contact lenses and the most common uses

Infrared contacts have different purposes. They are extremely hard to find, causing the demand for them to skyrocket. Contacts can be expensive due to common economics, the “supply and demand” theory. This article will guide you through how contact lenses are created, the protocol and safety risks, and the different uses of infrared contact lenses.

Infrared lenses are created using a press machine. The contact lenses are your average 13mm basic contact lens (the base for any colored or fun Halloween contact) and are then used in a press machine to incorporate the red filter. The red filter is a safe plastic filter that when you look through it, you see a purple/red vision that mimics “UV vision”. UV vision can help your vision see wavelengths you can’t normally see. This is how “invisible ink” works. The marks are so clear that the human eye cannot see them, however, when using the help of UV Vision, you can crouch down to a level to see the clear marks. The markings are not clear when using the help. The filter actually renders the marks as a dark mark, so it’s as clear as day when you look through the filter.

When wearing any type of contact lens, you must follow safety protocol to reduce safety risks. To prevent risks and infections, the consumer should refrain from sleeping in contacts. Consumers should clean before and after each use carefully using a contact solution and store in an approved contact case. Contact cases and contact solution can be purchased at any retail store. The average amount of time a consumer should wear contact lenses is 0-8 hours per 24-hour period. So if you’re going to be a magician and wear these contacts, remember to make your performance only 8 hours max. This prevents protein buildup and a lack of oxygen in the eye. Remember to use safety protocol with any contact lens, infrared or not.

The basic knowledge of infrared contact lenses begins with the history. Why were they created or “invented”? The red/purple UV-type filter applied to contact lenses allows certain “advantages” with certain activities. The infrared contact lens is famous in the magic genre, but it also extends to the field of fun/entertainment. The UV filter in the contact lens makes any wizard ready to buy the contact lens, which brings us to the first and most popular use of contact lenses, the wizard wear. Magicians young and old investigate ways to scare audiences with out-of-this-world techniques and strategies to confuse audiences as much as possible, “how does he do that!” is the goal! Infrared contact lenses can achieve this goal because they can read invisible marks on cards. The cards just have to be marked with invisible ink and now the magician can read each card without looking at the face of the card. Making it look amazing when they guess your card! Another use of these contacts is entertainment/fun. Read hidden messages with friends, play “spy” or write down your deepest secrets. Invisible contacts can see your messages and can be a really cool and fun idea! Last but not least, contact lenses can be worn for show. Halloween is a fun event for young and old. If you use the widest UV filter to make it look like you have dilated pupils, this will be a great showcase for any character in the Halloween role. Add the magic and it’s a wrap!
