Car Stereo Line Out Converter

Line output converter can be defined as a small device that converts high voltage speaker level signals to preamp level signals; which is acceptable for an amplifier. If you want to connect an amplifier to your car stereo that doesn’t have speaker level inputs, it means you need a line out converter to have preamp outputs. Therefore, you can connect your receiver to an amplifier by converting your receiver’s speaker output to preamp-level signals. It consists of a transformer and (10 to 20 watts) a high voltage resistor and is connected to the amplifier via an RCA patch cord. The amp in the head unit is being loaded by the resistor. It also has an adjustable gain function to extract the output.

Most line-out converters have a wire to ground the transformer. When the head unit is “on”, the voltage on the output speaker wires is almost half that of DC battery and changes rapidly when “on”. Whereas, when the unit is “off”, the voltage is 0 volts DC. As we already said, the main unit outputs have a large rapid rise in DC voltage when the main unit is turned on. The transformer will provide the voltage variation between the two input terminals. Since the DC voltage rises at the same time at both input terminals, the DC rhythm is unrecoverable. There are different types of line out converters available on the market, but Gizmo Peripheral remains the industry leader in high quality LOCs.

There are simple instructions for line output converters that need to be considered. So connect the speaker wires of the audio cable to the car stereo device. The line output converter then clips all linked speaker level audio signals back in until the outgoing signals match the preamp inputs on the amplifier. A Scosche adapter performs many different applications. Accepts speaker level outputs and converts them to preamp level outputs. It also has a fader control function which means; We can connect a 2-channel amp or a 4-channel amp easily and we can’t lose any fader control.

Adjustable line output converters help convert radio speaker level output to lower amplifier RCA level input. Installers often convert their stereo speaker level to RCA levels with the help of Hi/low adapters that connect to an external car stereo amplifier. The Hi/Low converter with 2 channels and 4 channels is also available with or without settings. It is important to note that the match between your car stereo and amplifiers is the same. Adjustable Hi/Low converters allow you to fine tune the high/low device to match in-car levels and are the most popular adjustable output converters. There are many 2-channel and 4-channel adjustable output converters available. For example, the Soundgate “LOC A” high-performance adjustable hi/low adapter features full DC isolation and handles 40 watts, and the Soundgate “XR4” which performs dual functions, such as adding an aftermarket receiver to an amplifier system. factory or add four amplifier channels to a factory receiver. This feature can make adjustments to all four channels.
