Flowers and gifts are a memorable work of art

Flowers and gifts are expressions of the heart that the brain registers in the same way that it would with language. Bouquets of red roses can say “I love you” or balloon bouquets can say “Get well soon.” Researchers at the University of Southern Denmark looked at people receiving gifts and noted that there was brain activity in areas typically used for reading, deriving semantic meanings and metaphorical processing. There are so many gift-giving opportunities out there, and the internet has made it easier than ever to express yourself!

For birthdays, bouquets of flowers are ideal. If it’s for a wife or girlfriend, then gift givers should choose flowers that really speak to their personality. What are your favorite colors? What are your favorite flowers? Is she traditional or unconventional?

Orchids, lilies, baby’s breath, daisies, roses, birds of paradise, calla lilies, lilacs, carnations and tulips all make stunning flower arrangements that exude love. For a mother or grandmother, try sending pink carnations, mums, snapdragons, orange blossoms, orchids, chrysanthemums, roses, daisies, snowdrops, asters, or poinsettias.

Often men are the ones who give flowers and gifts, but not the ones who receive them, although they also appreciate the flora. According to The Society of American Florists, more than 60% of men surveyed said they would like to receive flowers on Valentine’s Day. They also found that men preferred bold colors like red, orange, and yellow, with contemporary or linear themes.

They like flowers with strong, clean lines, such as roses, carnations, or gerberas. Men report that they feel calmer, more connected, more social, and more creative when flowers are around. For example, a Texas A&M study found that flowers in the workplace enhanced men’s creative problem-solving skills, generating 15% more ideas than a workplace without flowers.

Once the flowers and gifts are selected, they can be delivered to a person’s home, school, or workplace. Consumers should make sure that business gifts are allowed, as some employers may have strict rules about receiving gifts while “at work.” This is usually a good way to earn points because it’s always great to be the envy of the office. Gift givers sending something to a home should check what time the flower delivery will take place to make sure someone is there. Nothing is worse than having a thoughtful effort thwarted by conflicting schedules!
