The atomstack x20 laser is a great machine for those looking to get into high power engraving or cutting. It has a 20 watt laser that can cut and engrave a variety of materials such as wood, leather, cotton (clothing), paper, fruit, foam, acrylic, black anodized aluminium, and more. One of the best features on this machine is it’s fully integrated air assist system. This helps reduce charring on the material by blowing the air underneath the head when it cuts. This is a feature many other machines don’t have built in to them.

The controller box is fixed to the front of the frame and houses a micro-SD slot, E-stop switch, power button, reset button, and USB port. It also has a 3.5 inch offline controller that allows you to control your machine remotely. It can run a job, jog or home the machine, and adjust the power and speed. The offline controller also displays the job status.

Aside from the controller module, the Atomstack x20 has a few other components that make it stand out from its competitors. It has two NEMA 17 stepper motors that drive the x and y axis of the machine. It also has limit switches on both axes that help you home the laser. Using anything else could damage the nozzle or the laser head. You can also use a cleaning chemical if you’re not comfortable with water and paper towels.

The Atomstack X7 can’t cut metals with the 5W diode laser. It’s not powerful enough to cut through most metals, but you may be able to use it to cut thin sheets of metal with repeated cuts. Besides, it’s better to buy a separate laser cutter for this task. It will also save you money in the long run.
