How to finalize a resume cover letter

A resume cover letter is an important part of the job application. It is the job applicant’s responsibility to carefully craft a resume and cover letter that will convey a positive message to the hiring manager regarding the job applicant’s qualification, experience, and skills.

One of the main reasons for writing a cover letter is that you should force the hiring manager to call the job applicant for an interview and move on. In a way, it is a short “sales letter” in which the job seeker describes his or her eligibility for available work.

Possible sentences in the last paragraph:

* I look forward to the opportunity to have an interview soon.

* I look forward to speaking with you about this job opportunity.

* I look forward to an interview and I hope to hear from you as soon as possible.

* I am available for a personal interview at your convenience.

* I hope to schedule a personal interview at a time convenient for both of you.

* You can contact me on my phone number 900-000-0000 or email me at emailaddress (at) emailprovider.com

* Please review the attached resume and consider my application for the job.

* It would be an honor to work for your company.

* I will contact you next week to know the status of my application.

* Thanks for your time and consideration.

Example of closing words just before signing:

* Greetings, Best regards, Sincerely, Sincerely, Sincerely, Sincerely.

Signature related tips:

* Under the final words, write the name of the job applicant and leave enough space for a signature above it.

* When sending cover letter via regular mail sign with blue ink pen, if faxing please sign with black ink pen and when emailing write your full name.

Enclosures:

* You can add “Attachment or Attachments” to the cover letter, usually it is the resume. For example: Attachment: Resume

* Other attachments could include: copy of work experience certificate, copy of reference letters, etc.
