How To Grow Taller – 6 Steps To Grow Taller Naturally

A positive self-image is essential for every person. When it comes to that self-image, most people obsess over physical things like their hair, the clothes they wear, or the type of car they drive. You may be one of the many people whose self-image is affected by your height, but discover that it may not be as easy to alter as perhaps the color of your hair or clothing. Growth is a natural process but, like any natural process, it can be manipulated to improve one’s self-image. Keep in mind that there is nothing unusual about wanting to know how to grow taller. Someone self-conscious about their height is just as normal as someone self-conscious about the color of their eyes or their weight.

1. Remember that self-image is more of a state of mind. The way you see yourself to others is greatly influenced by how you want others to see you. There is evidence that focusing the mind on a physical change and becoming convinced that the change is occurring can cause a physical change in the body; this is known as a ‘psychosomatic’ change. Simply making it a daily habit to see yourself taller can gradually increase your height.

2. Commit to a routine of stretching and strengthening exercises. Examples of such exercises would be pull-ups, pull-ups, lower back extensions, and hanging crunches. Also, the routine of hanging from a bar can stretch the muscles of the lower back. Never allow such exercises to reach a level of intensity where they become painful.

3. Along with your exercise, eat healthy foods and take a multivitamin. Remember that the body is an intelligent machine. As you work and stretch the muscles and tendons in the areas where growth occurs, the body will direct nutritional resources to those areas that are worked the most.

Think of growing baby animals as they go to their mothers for milk. Limit your servings to one glass per meal each day (if you drink too much milk in one sitting, most of the nutrients will simply pass through your system unabsorbed).

4. Drink lots of milk. Milk supplies many of the nutrients necessary for growth.

5. Watch your weight. If you want to grow taller, you don’t want to grow wider. It is simply a matter of gravity. If you’re gaining weight, the extra mass weighs the rest of your body down, impeding growth up. Try standing up holding a 20-pound weight over your head.

Even small tasks count. If something you need is on a high shelf out of reach, don’t take the stepladder; just keep reaching and stretching as far as you can to get the item. Go outside and try to collect leaves from the branches of a tree that are out of reach. Even playing a little basketball with taller players can have psychosomatic effects.

6. Get involved in activities that force you to perform the tasks of someone who is taller.

Remember, if you’re trying to figure out how to grow taller, you’ve taken the right first step by doing a little research. Your mind is now actively involved in a natural process and your will has the ability to make changes. Also, don’t expect changes overnight; growing taller takes about as long as building muscle mass or losing weight, and neither of these processes should happen suddenly.
