Monster Energy Drink – Tastes the same as Red Bull but twice the size

Monster energy drink tries its best to look like Red Bull. The taste is similar, the ingredients are identical, and they target the 18-25 year old / male demographic. However, they have a clear advantage over Red Bull: quantity. Monster energy drink comes in a monstrous (sorry for the pun) 16 oz. can, while Red Bull only offers 8.3 oz cans. So you basically get double the product for the same price ($ 2 per can).

As stated above, Monster’s taste is pretty much the same as Red Bull’s (i.e. carbonated cough syrup). In my experience, the only difference is that Monster has a somewhat sweeter aftertaste. This could be due to a higher amount of sugar content.

If you’re not a fan of the High Sugar Monster, they offer a low sugar / low carb version (yes, they mimic Red Bull here too). This is perfect for anyone on a reduced sugar / carbohydrate diet. The difference in taste between the regular version and the low sugar / carb version is practically imperceptible.

Personally, I think Monster is a very good energy drink and it definitely gives you the best bang for your buck.
