Walking in Heels and Ballet Boots – Fetish Footwear

Ballet heels and boots are NOT ballet shoes, they are fetish footwear designed to force wearers to point their feet.

These shoes are designated as “fetish footwear“For one thing, if you’re not yet able to get your foot into the toe position, they can be extremely uncomfortable to use, even while sitting.

Don’t despair, if you want to wear ballet heels or have been instructed to do so, with practice and perseverance you can achieve what seems impossible at first.

Before you even try walking in ballet heels, you need to be comfortable wearing them, so we need to break down what makes them so painful to wear.

The natural position of the feet is parallel to the ground when standing, however, the pointe position is ninety degrees from the ground, forcing the tops of the feet in line with the calves. This position is simply unnatural and unless she is extremely agile or an accomplished dancer, it can be very painful.

Put all your weight on one leg and slowly lower your heel as far as you can, then lift your toes as high as possible and hold for 10 seconds. Do this 10 times per foot and repeat 3 times for a total of 30 stretches each session.

You will soon discover that you are able to climb higher and hold on longer.

Once you get comfortable with just wearing ballet heels, you’re obviously going to try to stand in them, with that comes toe pain! Unfortunately, there are no exercises you can do to prepare for this, but you can try using lambswool toe pads to relieve some of the pressure on your toes.

Choosing the right ballet heels for you

TIGHT! – When choosing a shoe size, it is much better to go snug, this will prevent the foot from slipping forward and putting more pressure on the toes. For your first ballet heels I would recommend ballet boots over shoes, the extra support you’ll get from the boot will go a long way when trying to walk.

Learning to walk in ballet heels

Once you’re comfortable with your foot pointed, you can try putting some weight on your feet. If you have never stood on your toes before, you should introduce your weight gradually. By far the easiest and best way to start walking in ballet heels is to use crutches.

It may not be glamorous, but by using crutches to reduce weight on your feet and provide extra balance, you can get used to the feel of your heels at your own pace.

Practice your muscle exercises and balance with the help of crutches every day until you feel comfortable standing on your own.

Once you’re comfortable supporting your own weight, it’s time to take some steps, but first you need to understand what you’re wearing.

The function of the stiletto heel is not to help you keep your balance, but to force you to stand on your toes, so stand up and walk on your toes, not your heels.

With the help of a handrail or wall for balance, take a few steps trying to place your foot heel to toe, not heel to toe. It will feel totally unnatural and you will constantly think that you are going to fall forward; however, you can’t lean back because your heel will prevent it, so use the wall for balance until you gain confidence.

By practicing daily for short periods, you’ll build your muscles, balance, and confidence, and soon you’ll be walking around in your heels or ballet boots without any assistance.
