What to do when your parents hate what you do?

A famous saying is “Time heals all wounds”. You must believe that whatever career you choose, not everyone will be pleased. And that especially applies to parents.

They are your parents and they have the right to feel the way they do. You are still the kid even when you turn 50 and they are still alive. They will still have those feelings.

Hopefully, with age comes wisdom. If there are children involved, you should consider the children.

You may have tried arguments, small talks, and the intervention of other family and friends with very little luck.

If you love what you do, keep doing it. I hope it is not something that endangers your life or that of your children.

Now for the repair. One method is to overwhelm them with important gifts and postcards from interesting and exotic places. Maybe go to a place they have always wanted to visit. Make sure you buy something for them, but be sure to send a postcard, or what is common today, email a photo of you and your family in a popular location.

They are your parents and they deserve a lot of respect and recognition. Be the best and sick person. You have heard that time is too short.

Take a personal look inside yourself and forgive yourself for any feelings that are jumping and running all over the place.

Prayers if you are religious to a certain extent. However, I love the following statements. These next words put you in touch with the Intelligence that brought you to listen. Some call it God, Jesus Christ, and the like. For the sake of good argument, I choose to call in Intelligence.

Now say each statement as a group or ensemble. The first affirmation is I love you. The second is sorry. The third is Please forgive me. And finally say thank you.

Just saying those phrases throughout the day will get you amazing results. My children say these statements every morning upon awakening and at night just before going to bed.

These extremely powerful statements answer everything that ails you. By saying them, you give everything to Intelligence. No finger pointing / No one to blame. There is no shame here and of course you feel at ease with the creator.

In relationships, it seems that we always find fault with others and always point the finger at another person or persons. We forget that there are three fingers that point a lot at us and that the thumb also leans towards us.

Your happiness and well-being are important. Remember that you are not doing it for them. You are doing it for yourself. You don’t want to regret not having repaired that fence, right?
