The Franciscan church Basilica dei Frari is just one of the many other attractions worth visiting in Venice, while movie lovers may be interested to note that the city hosts the oldest film festival in the world.
When you’re thinking about where to go on a cheap Italy vacation, you might also want to consider a trip to Milan. Located in the north of the country, the city is home to the largest Gothic cathedral in the world.
Milan holds a fashion week twice a year attracting designers and models from all over the world, so going here when the festival takes place could be a fantastic trip for fashion queens. However, if you prefer fashionable football, then a visit to the San Siro, where both AC and Internazionale play, may be your best bet.
Other sights include the Milan Aquarium, home to more than 100 species of marine life, and the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology, where you can learn more about the famous Italian artist and scientist.
