Advantages and Disadvantages of Inflatable Air Beds

Air mattresses have many advantages compared to normal mattresses. Some of the features that make it more preferred are flexibility, comfort, adjustability, and portability. You can easily deflate an airbed, put it inside a carry bag, and take it with you wherever you go, making it more flexible to use than a regular mattress.

For people who are allergic to dust mites and bed bugs, airbeds provide a much more comfortable platform for you as the chances of developing dust mites and bed bugs are much less. Your chances of developing bed sores are lower when you use an airbed.

Good air beds have adjustable settings. You should be able to adjust the height and firmness settings to your desired level. Like the never-flat insta-bed pump, a built-in pump helps adjust the firmness of the bed. This pump contains sensors that activate it when the pressure drops. Also; raised bed means more comfort and getting out of bed easily. Modern airbeds are usually raised, which means you can adjust the height to whatever level of comfort you want.

A good airbed should have a high weight limit. Although guests can use an airbed, most people who have an airbed say it’s fine for romance.

Heavy weight does not mean more quality most of the time. Because it is usually filled with air, it is much lighter than a traditional mattress, which is a great advantage for many, as it becomes easier to transport.

In a situation where an extra mattress is needed but there is no space available to store it, the inflatable bed is useful because once deflated it takes up much less space which makes it easier to use as you can easily inflate and deflate it any time. even if you don’t have enough space for your guests.

Although there are many benefits associated with an air mattress, there are also some problems and some of these are discussed below.

The main problem with the inflatable air mattress is that it starts to lose air over time and a small leak can tarnish your airbed experience. To make sure your new airbed doesn’t leak; inflate it and then wipe the mattress with a damp, soapy cloth. If there is any leakage, you should see soap bubbles immediately.

In very rare cases, you would find a leak in an air mattress you just bought. If this is the case for you, I recommend that you act quickly and call the manufacturer immediately to inform them about the newly found leak in the mattress that you smell. They will usually respond quickly and send you another one within a few days or weeks.

Pump or controller issue is another downside with air beds. When the pump fails or malfunctions, it becomes difficult to maintain air pressure. This may render the bed unusable until the issue is resolved. Air mattresses that have their pump embedded inside can be difficult to handle when either the controller or the pump develops a problem. An air mattress like the insta-bed air mattress has its pump on the side of the bed. This makes it easier to resolve any problems associated with the pump, unlike an air mattress where the pump looks inside the pump.

Air pump noise is another problem with air beds. About 8% of inflatable bed users complain about noise. However, modern beds come with much less noise. A good airbed should silently monitor pressure and activate when the sensors are dropping the pressure without producing any annoying noise.
