Braums Ice Rink

There is no better way to experience the fluidity of movement generated by ice than by heading to the ice rink. Ice skating is one of the most beloved winter activities in history. Oklahoma City has just one for its residents and visitors to the city: the Braums Ice Skating Rink. Opening across from the Civic Center Music Hall on the Grand Lawn in December, Braum’s Ice Rink is one of the most significant additions to downtown OKC.

Measuring 62 feet by 150 feet, the rink easily ranks as one of the largest outdoor rinks in the Southwest. It also means that the new track is bigger than last year’s. It was the immense popularity of the previous version that prompted the creation of a bigger track this year. This year’s additions include increased guest accommodations. The larger rink area will help skaters show off more of their moves. The shiny new skates are also available to rent for participants from toddlers to adults.

For a two-hour session and skate rental, the cost is $8. If you bring your own skates, you will only be charged $5. Refreshments at Braum’s Ice Rink Café include coffee, sodas, hot chocolate, hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice cream. Visitors can enjoy the action on the track together with their friends and family. Group tickets are offered for private parties. The rink is open from noon to 10 pm daily from November 23 to January 1 and is not closed on holidays.

The track is also close to the main hotels that organize transport services to important destinations in the city. The Braums Ice Rink is just one of many downtown December festivities and attractions in Oklahoma City. The others include OGE Garden Lights at Myriad Botanical Gardens, Holiday Lights and the Oklahoman Mayors Holiday Tree on the Bricktown Canal, and many more.
