King Crocodile is a big attraction in Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa

There is an Australian King Crocodile at the Dubai Aquarium. It is a first exhibition of its kind in the world.

Dubai is a city of entertainment for adults and children. Every year new avenues of entertainment are opened and now there is the King of Australia crocodile with a couple that lives in the Aquarium delighting children and adults.

Dubai Aquarium is located in the largest shopping mall in the world – The Dubai Mall. Its exhibit is something unique and exciting. Nowhere in the world is such a gigantic animal species available in an aquarium and that too is found within the center of a shopping complex. The Aquarium has a new addition and is part of Dubai Tourism’s efforts to open up new entertainment sights in the city. The Aquarium now has a pair of King Crocodiles as guests. The crocodiles were imported from a farm in Australia and expertly transported to Dubai. They live together with sharks and 3,000 other species of aquatic animals in a vast aquarium with millions of cubic feet of water.

Crocodiles can be seen up close, just a few inches away from a glass partition.

The male has a female partner and both have produced a baby crocodile as well. Dubai Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world and you will need at least 2-4 hours to do justice to the wildlife preserved there.

The crocodile is part of a special enclosure and also has an entrance fee. The marked entrance fee to see the king crocodile is AED 210 or $52. It’s quite steep for the price, but it’s worth it. The king crocodile in Dubai is about 5 meters long and fully grown. He is in his 20s and was raised on a farm in Australia. He and his companion were transported in a special container to Dubai last year.

Dubai is the largest shopping center in the world and for winter visitors it is the best time to spend a holiday, as the “Dubai Shopping Festival” lasts until the end of January. Seeing the king crocodile and the other aquatic animals is an added bonus, not forgetting the Burj Khalifa, the tallest tower in the world that dominates the city. For me to see the vessel sleeping and resting up close is like a cake and I loved it. Some animal lovers have felt that a captive crocodile is not a good thing, but then how is wildlife preserved for generations?
