Fun things to see in Las Vegas and a cool place to stay when you visit
Las Vegas is a fantastic, fun, slightly crazy, continuous and direct entertainment experience that you really must do at least once in your life! When I went I stayed at the Luxor, which is a huge black pyramid hotel with over 4000 rooms and a fun and friendly atmosphere. It also has the largest man-made light source pointing skyward from its roof that can even be seen from space! I highly recommend staying at the Luxor as it has large comfortable rooms at reasonable prices and lots of great facilities including a very large casino downtown. It has a quality restaurant and if you are in a hurry or on a budget you can dine in the buffet restaurant which has a wide variety of food and is available day and night.
You will never get bored in Vegas as the place is open 24 hours a day, in fact there are no clocks in sight!
But what else is there to do and see apart from gambling? Well, one of the best things to see when you’re there is the great water fountain show that takes place outside the Bellagio hotel (where Ocean’s Eleven was filmed) every night for free. This is a truly amazing show with music and the stunning Bellagio hotel as a backdrop, this is something you won’t forget and would be a very romantic moment to share with your girl if you are going on vacation as a couple.
Another great thing to do is take a ride on a huge roller coaster built on top of one of the hotels, but be sure to do it at night as the view of all the wonderful lights of Las Vegas as it goes up, down and around . the loop is something you will always remember.
One of the best things I did when I was there was take a helicopter ride up to the Grand Canyon, flying over it was absolutely amazing, definitely a “must do” when you’re there. Before the pilot took us to the Grand Canyon, he flew us over the Las Vegas strip and that was great too.
If you have time I would also recommend taking a walk around the entire Las Vegas strip, although this could take most of the day as the strip is 7 or 8 miles long, however it is well worth it as you can walk. get in and out of the hotels and casinos and enjoy all there is to see for free, unless of course you stop for a flutter which you most certainly will. One of the hotels even has its own free petting zoo with lions, tigers and other animals inside. As you walk down the strip you can find some things that you can only find in Vegas, when I walked from one side to the other I came across three Elvis Presleys! I also saw some guys on a street corner handing out flyers for lap dance clubs standing right next to a church minister collecting for his ministry… only in Vegas!
